Employment visa when working through an agency

Possible, or must you work as a regular employee?

Hi Guys and Gals,

I have looked through the numerous posts on working, visas, etc, but have one basic question:

Is it possible to get a working visa issued when working for a "Personalgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG" or "personnel company mbH & Co. KG", or agency?

I have two job offers at the moment and need to choose between working for a company vs. working for an engineering services agency, which will put me in a seat at their clients offices. I'm trying to single out the issue of visa granting from the German authorities as one issue to help make my decision. I have read that it might be harder, but what does this mean... Impossible? Is it the issue that if you work for a personnel company, then you are considered a contractor? - And therefore the work isn't guaranteed like it would be if you work for a company? The agency does have it's own offices and takes on work to be done in house, so maybe this could help or get around the issue.

I am currently here on the Australian Working Holiday Visa, which will expire in Sep. 2008.

Thanks to all those visa gurus who can help me on this, and I apologise if I have missed it in the other threads.

Not sure if this applies to you, but non-EU citizens cannot do temporary work. I would suggest checking with the KVR for clarification with regards to your own specific situation.

Thanks for the info.

The work for the agency would be under a contract, and they have said it will be a limited contract to 31st Dec 2009. I'm not sure how this is possible when at the moment I'm not allowed to stay beyond Sept 2008. In the meantime under my current visa, I can freelance, be full time employed at a company or be full time employed at an agency.

Would the non-EU people working as a 'temporary' status include a full time employee of a 'personnel company'? This would be the issue after Sep 2008...

I would go to the KVR, and have been a few times already, but I don't speak much German, so thought I'd try here first!

Does anyone know anything further?
