Prices and quality of apartments in Dresden

Writing off for jobs in Berlin and Dresden, i know both cities well for bars and girls etc, the important things...

Im applying for a job at the local zoos, but i have no idea, how much a largish aparment is, the quality etc etc. im not rich, quite the opposite...

Just wonderd what the mimimum would be, and how easy to get without a agent?

im next there in March, and hoping to move in the summer..
