Hi, I am looking for a recipe for pizza with fried egg on top? Years ago when I was in Gehlnhausen, there was a restaraunt that served pizza on fire with an egg on top. They would pour some kind of liquor on top and light it, I quess to cook the egg and melt the cheese. Has anybody had one of these or know the recipe. Thanks Frank

Never heard of a pizza with a flaming egg, but why don't you google the restaurant and contact them for the recipe.

I lived in Ansbach 1977-1999. There was a little pizza place that served a "Vesuvius". It had a top-like a pie. Inside there was ham and cheese like ricotta. In the middle was kind of a poached egg that we used to fight over. It came flaming; a liquer was poured on top and lit, which gave it a tiny bit of a sweet flavor. It was the BEST! I can't find any other references to it.

Jamie Oliver made a brilliant pizza. It was a type of 'breaky' pizza. After having made the dough and letting it rest.
Ingredients for pizza dough.
1kg strong white bread flour or Tipo ‘00’ flour
or 800g strong white bread flour or Tipo ‘00’ flour, plus 200g finely ground semolina flour
• 1 level tablespoon fine sea salt
• 2 x 7g sachets of dried yeast
• 1 tablespoon golden caster sugar
• 4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
• 650ml lukewarm wate
He placed on top different types of english sausage, bacon, olives, mozzerella etc...after 5-10mins in the oven, he took it out and cracked a couple of eggs over the pizza and placed it back in the oven for another 10mins or so.
