I'd like to go snowboarding in early January. Is anyone interested in joining me? I don't have anything specific in mind but I'm thinking Austria.

am interested but what kinda level? I'm an intermediate skier. How long were you thinking of going for? a long weekend? Would also like to improve snowboarding, have only done 2 days though. Was hoping to do mre but last season sucked over here.

I am an intermediate snowboarder. I started last season in the US with about 8 days of practice. I would like to spend at least 2 days snowboarding. My schedule is very flexible so I can go any day of the week.

We were trying to plan a trip also. Maybe get a big chalet package. I'm a pretty advanced snowboarder, but my girlfriend is a beginner skiier/boarder/falling-down-hiller...

I've heard Czech Rep. is the cheapest, but you have to go when there's snow. In the alps, France is sometimes cheaper b/c there's just so many places to rent that it drives prices down (supply and demand), but I've heard Austria's not that bad either, and that's also less of a language barrier (for us who know Deutsch).

I'm interested. I'd be fun and hopefully cheap to get a bunch of people together and rent a chalet.

If I may make a recommendation: Hochzillertal. I've gone three times this season, and it is amazing. Great runs, with tons of open 'back country'. I went this weekend, and it has been a little warm, so there isn't really any powder.. but when they get snow, its great.

I stayed at this Hotel, which has apartment type accommodations for more people. It is directly across from the train station, and right on the lifts.

I'd be very interested in doing this, but I've never been snowboarding or skiing, so as long as there's a beginner area or something...

We talked a little about this last Thirsty Thursday. I think we agreed to Les Arcs in March.
