Concert: Geoff Berner @ Kaffee Burger

For those of you who missed him before, the Whiskey Rabbi is back. Geoff Berner, whose self-appointed mission is to "drag klezmer music kicking and screaming back into the bars" by making "original klezmer music that's drunk, dirty, political and passionate", is returning to Berlin, next Thursday night at Kaffee Burger (Torstraß58/60, U2 Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz). Yuriy Gurzhy from Russendisko and Rot Front will also be DJing. The show nominally starts at 21:00, but I suspect that means Geoff will show up around then, so there should be time to put in an appearance at Thursday Night Drinks, if it's somewhere in Mitte or Prenzlauer Berg.

BTW, Geoff is from Vancouver, although you wouldn't know it from the amount of time he spends touring in Europe.

I'm gonna try to go to this one - he was so awesome last time. I can't stay late though - and It's going to depend on how work goes (it is the busy season for us after all... and I'm on call!)
