World AIDS Day is held each year on 1st December to raise awareness about HIV and AIDS and to keep pressure on world leaders to meet goals set for 2010. Goals such as universal access to HIV treatment, care, support and prevention services, hence the motto of World AIDS Day is "Stop AIDS:Keep the promise." Each year a theme is set - this years theme is "leadership".
A number of events are planned in Munich to mark the day including a
candle lit procession at 7pm. If you are unable to reach any of the events then please make sure to buy and wear a red ribbon.
