Ok so this was the book chosen at the end of last nights meeting. Here is the synopsis from Amazon:
QUOTE
Synopsis
It's 3 a.m. and Elizabeth Gilbert is sobbing on the bathroom floor. She's in her thirties, she has a husband, a house, they're trying for a baby - and she doesn't want any of it. A bitter divorce and a turbulent love affair later, she emerges battered and bewildered and realises it is time to pursue her own journey in search of three things she has been missing: pleasure, devotion and balance. So, she travels to Rome, where she learns Italian from handsome, brown-eyed identical twins and gains twenty-five pounds, an ashram in India, where she finds that enlightenment entails getting up in the middle of the night to scrub the temple floor, and Bali where a toothless medicine man of indeterminate age offers her a new path to peace: simply sit still and smile. And slowly happiness begins to creep up on her.
So now we need a date and a location make your suggestions here

Hi - I would like to suggest a meeting on either Thursday, January 17 or Tuesday, January 22. Regarding a meeting place, I will think about this but what immediately comes to mind is Cafe Albatross near the Uni (accessible U4 or U7 - Bockenheimerwarte) as it has a kind of a seaparate area which is not so loud.

I'm in for any date after January 13th. I can offer my apartment this time, but it's 1) in Darmstadt-Wixhausen (30 min by S3 from FrankfurtHBF) 2) can fit up to 10 people. Aren't there any pretty tea-rooms in Frankfurt, relatively quiet and big enough?

I would suggest either 22nd or 24th January. I personally don't mind going to Darmstadt but I am not sure how fair that is since it is the Frankfurt book club!
I am sure we'll find a location no worries if absolutely no other option we could have it at my place again. But the other suggestion by the Uni sounds good

That book sounds great. Will pick it up when in UK for Xmas. I can do any of the dates mentioned apart from the 17th as it's the other half's birthday. Would offer my place but I doubt anyone fancies travelling out to Wiesbaden!?
Agree with PM - Cafe by the Uni sounds good...

Ok well I finished the book yesterday and have to say I thought it was very good.
I know we still don't have a location for next time. We could always do it at my place again if people want?

I don't mind either way as long as it's easy to tube it to!

Hi - I am nearing the end of the book and have enjoyed it as well. Regarding the meeting place, it is nice of you to offer your home but I dont think that we should impose on you each month. Especially if we are a small group this time, perhaps we should meet in a cafe and reserve your home for when the group size gets bigger? I dont mind travelling to your home but dont want you to feel obligated. Cafe Extrablatt or Albatross (both near the Uni) are generally not so loud and are big enough. Either way its fine with me. Just wanted to share my thoughts.

I just got an e-mail from amazon, that the book was sent my way. Really looking forward to reading it. As for the location choice, I'm fine with whatever the others decide. Or come over to me in Wixhausen

Well I don't really mind. I would personally prefer that to a cafe or bar. I am not sure about the Cafe Extrablatt it does get pretty busy.
I am happy to have it at my place as long as nobody brings any junk food and if people do bring books to swop and nobody wants to swop them they take them back home. Last few times I have been left with a pile of books that I have either already read or don't want to read!!!

Hi there! Im looking forward to the 22nd. Have read the book and yeah it´s a good read. I agree with Purple Muffin that Cafe Extrablatt might be a bit unsuitable. As another alternative we can meet up at my place. Only disadvantage is that I live in the "Bergen" section of "Bergen-Enkheim", which is a little further out of town than
Bornheim is - but not that far and there´s a good U4/Bus 43 connection. Let me know what ye think...

I have a car and am happy to travel to anywhere. But I know this is not the case for most

So lets see what others say about it.
Also we'll need to think about ideas for a book for February as we'll be choosing at the end of the meeting next week. So make suggestions here...

Hi - As long as the meeting place is central and easily reachable via S- or U-Bahn, I am open to it. I do not have a car so I would prefer to meet somewhere central.

Ok well my place is only a 2 minute walk from the U Bahn so lets go for that. If those coming send me a personal message I'll reply with my address :-)
Also as for a time shall we say 19:30?
