Hello, I'm a native English speaker from Alaska and I'm going to be moving to Cottbus in January. I've got experience working with children and a B.S. in social work. My German is meager at best, though I hope to improve on it. Anyone one happen to have any tips about the job scene in Cottbus, or Cottbus in general? Thanks - tanner

Hi
I have visited Cottbus many times, its damn hard to find work, that is from the locals...most leave, my friend (a really hot chick i want to donk like mad!) looks like having to close her shop, and each time im there, i see new shops pop up, and the old ones gone, even if not long ago. I like Cottbus, some really hot chicks, but its a quiet boring place at time...and i found, even a lot of the young dont speak Engleeeesh.

Your best bet to get a job in the East is to train up and work as an English teacher. Anything else will be pretty tough.

Edit: As far as general tips- you should check out FC Energie Cottbus- it is probably a big thing with the locals. Also, you could do some trips to Poland.

Last time i was in Cottbus, Sept IIRC, i popped into there shop at the old market, wearing a England shirt, with a skin head, saying i had heard there footy team had a load of hooligans and where could i meet them...quite funny actually.

Been to a few parties and met a load of German skin head yobbo's, didnt like me but no problems...im still told its quite a racist town.

I like CB, but after 2 years of visiting, its a little boring
