The answer is 11.

I'd say 11.3. It's better to be exact, you know... rolleyes.gif
Dafydd
You are forgetting the Munich weighting.
Conquistador
Might be easier to give you some sort of answer if we know where in Germany you will be and what kind of work you think you will be able to do.
tom_a
@Dafydd: 11.6 then? unsure.gif

Where? Which part of Germany? Do you want your own flat or would you be ready to share?

Do you eat caviar regularly are you happy to live on spaghetti seven days a week? Do you like going out or are you happy to stay at home and watch TV (even if it's in German)?

Doing what? Babysitting or brain surgery?

Etc. etc.

If you're going to be here on a student visa you will be limited as to how many days you can work-someone else will be able to tell you just how many. You would be best advised to look for internships when you are here- they are much better than just any old job and your fellow students (competitors in the future job market) will be doing them.
faheem
Yes, internship is a better idea if i get it as part time. Is it easy to get off-campus accommodation there?
Conquistador
Sorry, although I live in Munich, I don't know from personal experience how easy it is for TUM students to find accommodation, so maybe someone else will answer.
faheem
Thanks for your useful replies, Conquistador. No problem if you don't have idea of it. I wait and see if someone else can comment on that.

Its not that difficult finding accomm if you apply in good time to the Studentenwerk. you are favoured by coming from a more rare nation. ohh, how it helped putting "scottish" and not "british" biggrin.gif

http://www.studentenwerk.mhn.de/

rooms are about 230euros a month there including bills (not phone). though do vary.

need to apply early though.

but as everyone else says, your vagueness is not helping with anything else.

but another consideration might be if you are at TUM in Garching, which would be about 58euros a month for public transport ticket, or if you are in the one in town. i was in garching so i dont have a clue what ring the town one is in. guess it depends where you are living anyway.

that studentenwerk link i guarantee you will be the cheapest place to get accomm in munich.

You will find replies to your questions here http://groups.msn.com/GermanPakistanistude...togermany2.msnw.

It's unfortunate that some of the responses here reek of prejudice but that's something you will have to be prepared for. Pakistan is in the news, you know.

Although proficiency in the English language is a pre-requisite to posting on this site, it certainly isn't for living in Germany. Many native English speakers living here haven't got their vowels in German right either. Oh, the snob value attached to English and its usage !
jml
Exactly what is reeking of racism, sorry edit, prejudice... Thats still a fairly hefty statement. Then again I suppose the posters above are being quite derogatory to vague questions, text speak, 11.3 and consonants. The latter aren't always for sale like some cheap HBF whore you know. Some of them want to be wooed properly like. WOooed I say to you my good sirs, woooed.

Fuck me, did everyone take a stupid pill for breakfast this morning?
astro_rabbit
If you read Viz, then it's a Rocket Scientist, ffs

Sweetypie, you're an idiot. That's the most tempered response I've been able to come up with.

Stop calling 'names'. It's time you got off your bloody high horse and stopped dispensing your worthless and silly judgement on people in almost every thread. When people ask questions from third world countries, they are working and living in circumstances which are quite beyond one's comprehension here.

And don't bother with your response, tempered or otherwise !
Keydeck
Sweetheart, why don't you just read JMLs post and answer the question. And I wasn't calling you names, I was making a statement as to my impression of your condition. If I was calling you names I say something along the lines of "Oi Fucknut, you are an idiot". The 'fucknut' element being the namecalling.
Sweetypie
okay, if you insist on nitpicking ... I would expect you to understand why I put names in quotes - that should explain it and that makes your response quite redundant.

I used 'reek of prejudice' and that should distinguish it from 'prejudiced responses' - that's the answer to jml's post but am quite tired to go into semantics now . Anyway, I thought you were all native speakers.

When people ask questions from third world countries, they are working and living in circumstances which are quite beyond one's comprehension here.

Well, what I mean to say is that many in these countries, especially first time travellers, have no idea what to expect and therefore cannot ask the right questions or even frame them correctly. For instance, he might decide on studying in Berlin if people say that Berlin is cheaper than Munich. That's how I read his questions which do appear vague but then that's because of a different kind of reasoning.
astro_rabbit
These people in 3rd world countries know where they are going to stay and study even before they set foot on the plane. They are usually from well to do families.

You need visa's and students passes and things like that. And the course has probably already been paid for in advance.

I don't think they come here or there willy nilly.

So the owner of this subject should answer the questions asked
