Hello TTs,

My good friend from the states is asking me before coming over how easy it is to have one's Visa status changed.

i.e., imagine you have a year visa as employed by X, can you resign and ask for your visa to be something else like self-employed only or the like?

If anyone can help or has experienced it I would be very grateful for guidance. I wouldn't like my friend to get here start a full time job and feel trapped.
