When's naptime? Gotta have some cots ready for the post-tryptophan-overdose nap. wink.gif
eurovol
Nappers can take the dogs for a walk-that will wake you up! laugh.gif
eurovol
Happy Thanksgiving everybody! smile.gif
interplanetjanet
Oh yeah, happy turkey day! smile.gif
amimeli
Have a great Thanksgiving celebration on Saturday!

Next time I'll have to be quicker about signing up. Looks like in this case the early birds got the worm, but in this case, it was the turkey!!
Johnny_who?
@ipj - why should turkey be happy? tongue.gif
interplanetjanet
@johnny who? - good point. wink.gif

@amimeli - i certainly hope that turkey didn't get worms!
amimeli
@ipj and johnny_who?
The turkey would probably be much "happier" getting (eating) the worms than being eaten itself!
interplanetjanet
Sure, but I don't think I'd be very happy eating a turkey with worms. Ew! blink.gif
Mbangura
Happy Thanksgiving!
Kat
Thanks for reminding me that today is the real Thanksgiving! Have a good one everyone, and see you on Saturday!
Showem
Real Thanksgiving? That was weeks ago! laugh.gif
interplanetjanet
Silly Canadian. wink.gif
anabi
ipj... we have to humor the Canadians a bit and let them keep thinking they have their own country tongue.gif
Winegirl
Yes but after we officially take them over the first thing we will do is move the holiday to it's proper date wink.gif
Showem
Yeah, the second Monday in October.
eurovol
Don't you mean Octoba? wink.gif
The first thing we will do is make you learn how to say "R", then we can talk aboot Thanksgiving! laugh.gif
interplanetjanet
Thanks much eurovol for a very nice Thanksgiving! Sorry we ran out the door so quick, but we had to make our connection to boonyland in a hurry. If only they'd make a perimeter train. wink.gif

It was good to meet all the folks I haven't met before and to see all those I have again, and it was great to be able taste the wide variety of tasty traditional foods. Never had cornbread stuffing before. smile.gif
eurovol
Leftover lunch for anyone that is still hungry. wink.gif
There is also plenty of alcohol left to be consumed and football to be watched. smile.gif

Thanks to everyone for making it a great "home away from home" Thanskgiving and to the "kitchen crew" that added the hectic spice to the mix. A special thanks goes to JoolyBooly and mzbunce's plus 1 for helping to produce the "calm after the storm" so we could finally stuff ourselves silly with all the wonderful food and to Winegirl for stepping in and becoming Piegirl after my pie plans went up in smoke (well almost). tongue.gif
eurovol
My son thought that yesterday was his birthday party and today he is sad because there is not a birthday party going on. smile.gif
biogeek
Thanks Eurovol for hosting, and everyone else for all the fantastic food and company -- nice to meet so many TT'ers biggrin.gif mmmm, i'm still in a bit of a food coma...
JoolyBooly
I agree, thought I'd recovered until I had leftovers for lunch and slipped back into a coma!

Thanks to Eurovol, your wife and adorable kiddy wink for a lovely day, very relaxed!
davo
I also want to thank eurovol and his family for graciously hosting such a wonderful Thanksgiving party. There was clearly a lot of preparation involved. Thanks to everyone for putting this together!! It was a great Thanksgiving away from "home", as it were (for me). The food was terrific and, as JB said, a very relaxed atmosphere. It was also cool to see some folks I know and to meet a few new faces and match them up with TT names. smile.gif

Go Red Sox!!

Sorry, that last bit just slipped out biggrin.gif
eurovol
Anyone missing a biege scarf or a maroon jacket? We found one of each. wink.gif
Winegirl
Thanks for hosting Eurovol and all the cooks for the delicious foods. I had a great time and think that I am still stuffed!
anabi
Indeed thanks SOOOO much... it really was a genuine Thanksgivng (with FOOTBALL!). I told my girlfriend that the evening was really how a great thanksgiving would have felt in the US... oh and the food was the best!

Again, thanks for hosting... perfect people, home and food for a real t-giving! smile.gif

I just wish I had a larger stomach for more food/pie and less groaning wacko.gif
dotchi
thanks so much randy and diana! I had a blast!
canuck
Thanks alot for the great food and amazing hospitality!! That was a fun (and filling) evening. I'm still full from that darn der turkey!! Thanks for everything... biggrin.gif Hope you enjoy the 20 Augustiner!!!
Kat
The beige scarf is probably mine. Cool. Now I have an excuse to come hang out with you guys again sometime! Please give my thanks to Diana! It was a really terrific Thanksgiving fest. Truely perfect. I only regret that my hangover kept me from the leftovers yesterday! laugh.gif
Mbangura
Deanna & Randy thanks so much for letting me monopolize your kitchen for three hours, I wish I had been able to stay longer and that when I finally did leave I hadnt ended up at the football stadium, but I had a great time, and the next time I say Im going to cook, I will either get there on time or do some of it before hand. thanks again

Go Red Sox!!

Sorry, this is off topic, but man, nice to see another member of Red Sox Nation here in Munich! You fly home for the parade? I sure as hell did!! Doesn't it feel good to see all those Yankee hats and know we just beat them in historic fashion? Don't these Germans know any better?!
Schotte
Really, who is bothered. Play a proper sport.

tongue.gif
davo
@BostonSportsFan:

I WISH I had made it home for the parade, but unfortunately couldn't make it. Damn this was a great season though!! Yeah, seeing all the Yankees hats here makes me laugh wholeheartedly. I feel like going up to people and saying... "do you realize how badly the Yankees choked this year?" And, at Yankees Stadium too! laugh.gif Most people wearing the hats have probably never heard of the Red Sox and couldn't even name more than 1 or 2 players in NY, if that.

Anyways, good to hear from another Sox maniac. We should meet and celebrate over a beer or 3. I can't believe I picked this year to move away from Boston. Pardon my french, but un-fuckin-believable ohmy.gif

It was still amazing, and people in Beantown will be talking about this season for a LONG TIME. biggrin.gif And, rightly so. What an amazing end of the season. Had to be seen to be believed actually.

@Shotte. Seriously, you really haven't a clue.
BostonSportsFan
@ davo
It was an incredible run. From the signing of Schill, to the big trade at the deadline, to the final flip from Foulke to Mientkiewicz (that name is impossible, I had to look on the back of one of my shirts!). I couldn't believe it. Of course, I choose this year to study abroad!!

I'd love to go up to a few Germans with Choker... i mean Yankees hats, and just say "Biggest choke EVER!" I have to say thanks for the Arc, they stayed open for the last game, and it was fun to watch it with a few other from the Boston area.

I'd be up for meeting up sometime, discuss some of this past season and the "hot stove" of free agent signings and new pick ups! Do you go to any of those TT gatherings? I haven't been to one yet, but it might be a good place!

And Schotte, he's just jealous he doesn't have any kind of winning team where he's from! tongue.gif We have the champions of TWO sports!
Schotte
Actually I have 2 teams who are the champions in their league, but the sport and the name of the teams you will have to guess!

Jealous of baseball... you must be having a larf! I do have a yankees hat though. really, i do.
DrivinWest
QUOTE
but the sport and the name of the teams you will have to guess!

Easy. Speed herring gutting. Teams are the North East South Haverfordshire upon Hull "Screaming Flingers" and the Umberlandford-on-Tees-on-Seas-on-Trent-on-Teesagain "Dancin' Ninnies."
Schotte
omg.

I can't think of anything non offensive to say to that, so i just wont.

Theres nothing wrong having a speed herring gutting trophy in the cabinet. Its all silverware.
DrivinWest
Just in case there is any doubt it is a light-hearted joke tongue.gif
Schotte
You've said your piece now... mad.gif
eurovol
Thanksgiving is over and you missed it! biggrin.gif
Now, come to the arc on Saturday night really late or on Sunday and watch some amazing NCAA Football! It is football time in Munich! cool.gif
