Hi all,
On December 22nd -- that's the last Saturday before Christmas -- at 6 pm, our parish is doing Nine Lessons and Carols, a traditional Anglican Christmastime service.
The service, as the name implies, involves nine Bible readings that tell the Christmas story, interspersed with nine carols and nine hymns. Traditionally it begins with the hymn "Once in royal David's city" and ends with "Hark the herald angels sing".
This is our third year doing the service. We do it with a bit of a twist -- it's bilingual (English-German) with the readings and carols alternating between the languages. Afterwards we stay together and have pudding, mulled wine and tea (along with anything people care to bring along and share).
The service will be at the Old Catholic parish hall, Brabeckstraße 24, Hannover-Kirchrode.
