i would like to have a credit card, but i never have one so i don't know how it works.
Therefore i have some questions about it :

1. if i pay my debt fully before the due date, will i get extra charge?
2. I don't plan to use it often, so what happen if there are months that i don't use the credit card? do i need to pay the monthly fee??
3. Is it easy to close the account if i decided not to use it again??
4. Do you have any suggestion what kind of credit card do i need and from which bank??since i don't have experience and all the websites are in Deutsch. ph34r.gif
i prefer one with the less fees, since i won't use it often. Just for buying tickets from ryanair (since they only accept credit card). which happens perhaps only 2-4 times a years.

Hey, Welcome to Toytown... as regulars are fond of reminding people, usually most questions have been answered. So be sure to search first, to avoid ridicule

well, i can't find all the answers i need in previous questions.

you don't need a credit card for ryanair if buying in Germany - you can pay with the EC-Karte. Its on the drop down as EV debit of something like that (can't remember, sorry!)

Then add any unanswered questions onto the end of the most relevant EXISTING thread. Most of your questions have already been answered.

1. No
2. Yes
3. It's relative as to what you perceive as 'easy'. Usually a letter 30 days in advance suffices.
4. Most places accept VISA and Mastercard. AMEX is not accepted everywhere.

I'm not sure if this is how they all work, but the ones i have had experiences with have been more like debit cards kind of... you charge something and then at the end of the month or beginning of next month it gets taken from your bank account automatically...

get on from your bank, if it's paid in full every month (which it seems like you wish to do), most banks don't charge you unless you want a gold or platinum one. For added security, get one with your photo on.
UrbanAngel
Stadtsparkasse charges for theirs.

Remember that credit cards are a VERY bad way to borrow money.
The Chairman of Barclay's (Apartheid knuts) got caught with his pants down when he admitted he wouldn't advise any of his family to use his banks's cards to borrow money.

from here i found out that advanzia master card gold is the only one who mention that it included cvc code for online shopping. Is this means that the others credit card can't be use for online shopping??
ian
The CVC code is the security number printed on the back of the card (usually). My Master Card has it printed in black on the edge of the area you sign. I can't remember if I have done an online transaction without having to type it in.

The code is on all normalcredit cards.

Mind you most people in Germany prefer to use bank transfers for online transactions.
