Starting a Band in Munich

Hello Everyone,

I am an American expat in Brussels who maybe relocating to Munich within the next six months to a year (my girlfriend - what else? ).

I've done a couple of searches on the site and have not been able to find the specific information I'm looking for so I thought I'd start a new topic.

One thing that I really enjoy is playing and watching live music. I was wondering if someone could tell me what the "scene" is like and how tough it is to find other (basically rock) musicians. Are there a lot of cover bands or people who do their own material? Most importantly, what kind of magazines, forums, etc., can one use to find people to play with?

Any help would be very much appreciated.
