They are from DC. They have a really nice club there, where they have their studio and offices. It's called the 18th St Lounge on, ... uh, 18th St. We saw them live in DC a few years ago. I was a bit disappointed but it could have been bc of my mood, or the fact that the place was ridiculously packed.
If I were to guess, this will not be a live act, but a dj set to promote their new mix cd. That might be nice though. In fact, I would probably rather see that.

From the website:
Rob and Eric have put the finishing touches on their new LP, The Cosmic Game. Set for a February 2005 release, the new LP sees the duo pushing the signature Thievery sound into new dimensions. It features collaborations with a whole new realm of guests including Perry Farrell, The Flaming Lips and David Byrne as well as Sleepy Wonder, Lou Lou and Notch. We'll let the songs speak for themselves. Be on the lookout for some exclusive tracks later on this year.
Aw crap. Personally I think their first CD 'Sounds from the Thievery Hi-F' was by far their best and the stuff has been getting progressively more tossy / yuppy / chic coffee shop since then.

@MM Agreed. I haven't like much of their music lately. "The Mirror Conspiracy" was nice in places, but "Richest Man..." I wasn't feelin. Could be that I just got tired of the sound which doesn't really have much depth. However, this mix cd that they just put together as well as the DJ Kicks that they did years ago are both nice, and if this gig @ FK is a dj set, could be alright. These guys will fit in @ FK too. It seems they are a bit more interested in style than music.

I'm over it, I guess. First time back wasn't that great. I could still feel a funk in the air from when we were snubbed. Actually, haven't been back unless we were on the list, and I don't know if I would go unless somehow guarenteed entry. Although from the times I have been recently, their hasn't been a problem with anyone getting in. Still... you just had to bring it up, didn't you.

Me and my Swede are in... look for a tall bald'ish skinny dude with glasses & the bushy tailed (oops I meant haired) chica beside him. We will answer to the names of Erik & Carol Sometimes
Looking forward to it as I gotta support my hometown homies, I am sure it will be fun... if they let us in!
