Silly question there, P.
Element2082

Should I be drunk on arrival?

Questions like this are in the fine print of my posts.

*WE INTERRUPT THIS PROGRAM FOR A LIVE NEWS BULLETIN* Gunilla M.B Odsboel will be dancing this weekend on Friday and Saturday in the 2007 European Irish Dancing Championships in Dachau, just a short train ride away from Munich. Opening cermemonies are on Friday evening at 7.00pm. On Saturday and Sunday over 600 dancers age 6 to 64 will compete. Competitions begin on Saturday at 7.30am with the World Champion qualifying round beginning at 1.30. We hope to see you there! *We now return to your regular scheduled programming*
Wombat
that almost sounds sexy... but come on! Irish dancing? 6-64?... a belly dancing championship 20-25 year olds, would be more my cup of tea!
mix_twix
sounds good. I've got a meeting on saturday (don't know when yet) so let me know how that fits into the time / ticket schedule :-)
RebellionLies
Me and Nick will probably be going to the Ryan Adams gig on Saturday if anyone wants to join.
Alarum
read that as bryan adams and was about to question your sexuality... then ask if i could come sad.gif

I guess I have to drink more beer for competing in a belly dancing championship...bring on the oktoberfest wink.gif
Bavaroo
Ah yeah almost forgot...

Just wanted to ask if some of you would like to join our canadian/german team for the Arc Pub quiz on Monday?

As most of our teammates have left Munich in the last couple of months it's only 4 people now (2 Canadians (1 Canad-Irish), 1 German and a Bavarian...well myself ;-) )
cabbagefairy
Isn't it meant to be max of 4 people in a team?
Alarum
i thought the arc quiz was 4 man teams?

on a side note anyone for snowboarding/skiing on saturday? I know some of you were intrested but I also know it is getting to that time of the month where people have no money.

thinking of getting the bob train up to Spitzingsee early saturday morning leaving at 7.42,link here.it cost 35 euroes for train and ski pass then what ever board hire is (about 35 euroes). Recommend waterproof clothes(i almost didnt take any and am so glad i did)

for people who dont know what they are doing unfourtunatly there wont be people who can train you and im not good enough to even try, i have no idea what kind of lessons are avalible so it could be a case of fall over until you cant be bothered to get back up again then fall some more (it worked wonders for us last weekend)

let me know if your intrested

oh and one last thing, going snowboarding does not mean you can bail on going out at night wink.gif

But it does mean you cant move the next morning!!!

hilarious!! I think Terryn got pictures...

I wanna come but can't afford it this month. Any idea if you'll be going in Dec. cos I get my grant through soon. Also, Dan, did you go to the boarding market?
biggers
I AM THERE!!! I cant ski or snowboard but I am up for a laugh!
Alarum
im pretty sure we will be going in december as well, plus there is always time after new year smile.gif
LancashireLaLaLa
No found it hard enough to get off the U-Bahn at my stop!! Could easily have spent all day going backwards and forwards on the U2. (like Barney in How I meet your mother after the marathon).
themusicalguy
I've barely recovered from last week but go on, why not! Falling down an icy sloap is fun!
RebellionLies

There'll be plenty of time mate, Stu was boarding all the way into June last year.

And Nick - it's "slope" not "sloap".
RebellionLies
Also, any of the rest of you joining the other 20-somethings tomorrow night?
mix_twix
I might be Chris- got a dance class until 9 but will try and pop along after.
biggers
i would but Friday is always a day i have to be in work at 8.30-9-9.30ish for.
Alarum
yeah i think i am, not put my name down as not 100% yet
Bavaroo

True but if you have a bigger group of lets say 8 , you can make 2 teams and its more fun than with just 4 people.
We had that before and it's funnier as the teams also have a certain competition between each other ("who is better...who knows what")
Bavaroo
anyone intersted?
biggers
ok to clarify for those who "do not understand international football"...(you know who u r lol)

Tonight 7.30 Molly Malones? KO is at 9.

Is this correct???
RebellionLies
Yep, might try to get there a little earlier though.

Fish and Chiiiiips smile.gif
themusicalguy
Hey Chris... Wanna call for me on your way there? Looking forward to some fish and chips myself!

Oh and I'll probs be out with the 20 somethings too.
Alarum
what do people want to do this weekend? anyone for peaches/nacht gallerie on Saturday seeing as we didn't make it last week? though klub 4 was fairly entertaining(you will never hear me say that again). if this is not peoples cup of tea, I'm open to anything, as long as it contains alcohol

also for people coming snowboarding/skiing need to clear up a few things. To hire the board i would take some for of ID just in case, passport is best but they accepted drivers licences at the other place we went to. as far as i am able to gather, waterproof gear cannot be hired though i may be wrong. also it is advisable that people buy there train tickets before Saturday, they can be picked up from hauptbahnof. Any other questions, let me know.
themusicalguy
Just to add to Ben's post...

At the place that we went to last week you didn't even need a drivers license for equipment hire. A credit card was enough, but it's probably better to take something anyway just to be on the safe side. Expect board & boot hire to be around 30 euros and like Ben says, normally I wouldn't expect you to be able to hire clothing.

The right clothing is a MUST, you will have a hard time if you don't have water proof trousers / jacket and something for you're head is highly advisable if you don't want to end up with snappable hair as I did last week.

Happy Boarding!
cabbagefairy
Will there be snow there?

I'm considering this but tobi is still not up to bashing his head again tongue.gif

Going next week?
mix_twix
yeah, I also wanna go boarding asap but can't on Saturday (work sucks).

Peaches/ Nachtgalerie sounds perfect to me! Will still want to drink before I go out though- gotta save those pennies for Christmas ;-)

NOTE: This is not an invitation to a house party...maybe next week...
Alarum
whats that clare, "show up at your house univited" well if you insist tongue.gif
biggers
ok nachtgallerie and peaches - excellent idea.

tickets for snowboarding - where in hbf do we buy the tickets for BOB Train? at the reise zentrum?
Alarum
we are having a bit of a problem atm as we found out the bob/ski pass tickets dont come into effect until the 9.12. we are thinking of doing it another way that will work out a little more expensive (about 40 euros) but we will have to go in groups of 5 for the train tickets, ill keep you posted
tdkwesel
Hey everyone...are we thinking Peaches/Nachtgalerie for Friday or Saturday? Let's keep it on Friday please so that some of us can go out and celebrate with the Irish dancers on Saturday night. Is that okay?
biggers
THAT IS NOT OK!!! - only kidding but i really wanted to say that biggrin.gif
cabbagefairy
I'm in for naga smile.gif Buying a snowboard tomorrow so once tobi has his head back on properly we will be up for those trips in december when the train starts smile.gif
themusicalguy
Ashley... We're tryna get an idea of numbers, can we confirm you for boarding on Saturday?
LancashireLaLaLa
Plan:
Sat 24th November 21.30 Peaches.
biggers
I can confirm boarding on Saturday
themusicalguy
Hmmm, hold on. We're now debating whether to go at all since the forecast is rain at the weekend and boarding in the rain isn't that great!

Hold on I'll keep you updated.
