Just moved here 3 weeks ago, one of my sons is already sick and I have no idea who to bring him to - I should have done some research ealier on good pediatricians in the area (English-speaking). Can anyone help me out? I would even be willing to drive into Munich if there is someone great out that way.

In the Haar, Vaterstetten, or Baldham areas
Have you looked at the relevant (=Munich) threads in the search results for paediatricians?
I've taken my 6 year old son a few times to Dr. Peter Schäffler in Baldham. He's older, but speaks passable English. I haven't seen him enough to make a permanent recommendation, as my son's regular doctor is in Munich, but there have been a few times where it was much more convenient to go round the corner (I live in Baldham) to the local doc.

He's located in the little shopping mall by the Baldham S-Bahn station, where the post office and Rewe is.
Hope that's helpful. For sure for regular childhood sneezes and sniffles and whatnot, he's a fine doc. Perhaps you would like to try him out and see for yourself.
Other than that, I can't really make much of a recommendation. My son's usual doc is located in Munich Solln, which is extremely inconvenient, and while he is a good doc, I wouldn't say he's great enough to justify the trip, and we always have to wait at least an hour to be seen, which drives me batty. I've been meaning to find another regular doc for my boy, but find doctor-shopping about as fun as emergency hemorrhoid surgery.

have taken my kids there on occasion too although we were registered with a Paediatrician in Heimstetten.
He sorted out two lots of asthma quite well! As Leeza says, his English is OK! Now our paediatrician in Heimstetten moved on, the replacement does not have such a good reputation.. and as the kiddies are older I take them to our Hausartzt in Kirchheim mostly.

I can second Welshdragon, Dr. Schaeffler is very nice with kids. I didn't get along too well with him cause at the time I didn't want my daughter to get the necessary vaccines, but after some argues he stopped trying to convince me.
Otherwise, he was fine for emergencies and routine checks the same (since I am German, I didn't have the language problem)
Btw there is an outbreak of measles in Baldham/Vaterstetten, make sure your kids have their shots (as you can see I've changed my mind concerning this).

My daughter's pediatrician is great is in Haar and speaks very good English.
