Anyone have any ideas??

Many thanks

Ah, Katrina's first post was about suet. Suet for mince pies, "Nierenfett" and "Talg"

Parsnips are Pastinaken: What are Parsnips called in German? , Parsnips - in German: Pastinaken.

See especially the excellent explanations here, with pictures: Parsnips - in German: Pastinaken

Butchers and good veg shops are anywhere.

Knew I should have done a search on the Forum fist!

Hmm, the link renamer named two of my links the same. The second one is a particular post, not just the whole thread.

Yeah, search first is always a good answer, it's gratifying when newbies figure it out and don't have to be told... wink.gif

The local market.

My wife slices them lengthwise and then deep fries just like chips. Not sure if first dipped into flour. Quite edible that way smile.gif
