Ok, my apologies to those that made it out last night. We (collectively referred to as the DFA's) started out early at Cafe Hadley's last night. Because we had not heard from anyone else, plus we kinda fell in love with Hadley's, we ended up staying there. We did hear from Rachael later on - a special thanks to Rachael coming and finding us!! Hope you have a safe flight home on Monday!!

As much as we want to keep Hadley's our little secret, if you have not tried this place you really should. I would call it a must see. Great atmosphere, food looked good (we did not eat), extensive wine & liquor selection (only $15eu for a bottle of Syrah), fantastic coffee, and only 5 min walk from Schlump stop. We will definitely return!

It's 5 mins from me, been there a couple of times, I would have thought, since you mentioned some places being "too upscale for you" that you would not feel this place or I would have recommended it too wink.gif

I'll go back when the smoking ban takes effect, the smoke can be hard to bear there...

Too upscale? No, Cafe Hadley's was PERFECT! I can't tell you how much we fell in love with the place. A couple of us actually did return on Sunday morning for Bloody Mary's (far from perfect, but they were acceptable). The place is just dark enough & cozy enough to sit and read on a lazy Sunday. Hell, even the waitress, wearing only a white T-shirt n jeans, looked like she just rolled out of bed (a very good look for her BTW). wub.gif

And I'm a bit surprised that you thought it smoky?? On Sat night we sat upstairs (four of us, two smokers and two non). And all of us thought it was the first place we've found in this city where we could breathe. Admittedly the tables downstairs are a bit closer so if you are sitting next to smokers I could see that being annoying.

Oh, and we ate there on Sun, the bits we had were fantastic!! Although we got a good laugh from the menu – mostly café bits (soups, sandwiches, & salads, upscale kind of fare), and then chili & nacho’s?? Just didn’t seem to fit in with the cheese & olive plate…

Question, apparently there is a B&B next door or something by the same owners - do you know anything about it?

Yes, the B&B is theirs, single rooms are 69 Euro per night, the homepage is
