Happy Friday.
Hi there. I'm Diana, just joined TT. I'm so glad to find a place where the people are civil to each other in the forums. I've been in Germany a little over two years, first in Hanu, then in Heidelberg since July.
I have a question about the posts.
When you get into a topic the posts go from oldest to newest. Any way to change the order to show the newest first?
Anyway, I look forward to talking to you! - diana (I'm really not this cheery)

Hi Diana, welcome to TT.
As for the posts, unfortunately no, there's no way to reverse the order.
Anyway, the current order makes perfect sense once you get used to it.
If they went newest to oldest then you'd have to read the conversations in reverse.

Ah, she just caught us on a good day. Its Friday and the weekend approaches. How can we not be nice to each other? Wait until she sees it on Monday morning

If you like threads going backwards, there's one just finishing off over
The reverse story thread, but it hasn't started yet.

No, it's just TTers can be quite the assholes to each other, and in some threads civil is about the last adjective I would use to describe the discussion.

"Found this site looking for a place where expats post and don't simply argue and swear in the forums."
I'll have to repeat leky's sentiments here
Welcome!

It can be appropriate, but only if followed by the word "war".

On a similar vein, is it possible to have a "view first unread" post button? So you don't have to trawl all the way through a topic to find where you last left it. I occasionaly lurk on another forum and this is really useful.

Given a list of posts in a thread, how would it know which ones you have and have not read?

Are you left-handed, Di? I am and it's a struggle to read magazines from the first page to the last rather than the other way round.
You should read Arabic magazines, STB.

There is one. Just click on the orange box to the left of the topic title. Takes you right to the first unread post.
