I was speaking with somebody about studded tires and their use in Germany but my memory is playing tricks on me and I can not remember if they are allowed in Germany or not.
The bad thing is that I don't remember who I was talking to either...

They are allowed in the Alps (Austria & Switzerland) and Scandinavia though.
