My company is developing a mobile phone application with Frankfurt
specific content: public transport, pharmacies, taxi..

Several people I showed it to liked it, so I thought I'd send out a link.
Info and free download here:

Intresting. Would be nice to see it for all the big German Cities.
+ It's even avail. in English.
- Its only for Nokia, and Symbion based phones.

I see Samsung, Motorola and Sony Ericsson are included too. You can search by Manufacturer\Vendor on the download page.

Full list here. http://www.bigredzebra.de/pages/en/support.php

Me I stick with Nokia though.

hi Darkknight,

actually, Big Red Zebra is available for many non-Symbian phones. In our supported list, none of the Motorola, Samsung and Sony Ericsson phones are Symbian models.
And even within the Nokia phones, we support several that are not Symbian.

We are a small company, and right now we only have data for Frankfurt; but we'll add support for other cities in the future.

cheers

Well OK, Ill leave it to you guys and Ver. 2.0

Another big market you are loosing out on is for Windows Mobile Devices. They are in the top 3 list
of Phone software. If/When you make the Software compatible with WM devices make sure you test it on both
the phones with small displays, and PDA type/size screens. Many SW makers don't do this and their SW will
display incorrectly on some devices.

If you need more Inof. about other Germany cities, let us know what your looking for, I'm sure with the power
of TT we could gather the info you need.

Just to let you know that now we have all the new RMV data after their Fahrplanwechsel, and all the emergency pharmacies for 2008

Still here, still free, support for more phones

We started working on Windows Mobile, so for next year we'll support even more phones.
With regards to the data we know, it's basically 3 categories
  1. Position of cellphone towers (this needs a lot of time to gather)
  2. Public transport schedules
  3. Pharmacies service schedules

I downloaded the red zebra software about a month ago, but unfortunately it never seems to be able to locate where I am (when using the "How do I get to there from here" function). Is this not part of the beta version functionality or is there something wrong with my phone?

Hi,
what phone do you have? Here is a list of phones with/without support for the cell ID (autolocation) feature.
If your phone should support the cell ID feature but it doesn't, email us (support at bigredzebra dot de) with details (phone model, provider...) and we'll take it from there.

thanks for trying Big Red Zebra
