I've successfully found Finnegans Wake & the Naked Turtle -- what or where is Simpel? Which Ubahn stop? An Irish / English pub? hmmm, I could get used to this town, just like home!

@StevenB you should come out, we usually don't meet up until 10 and stay out until 1 or 2. So if you have something before you can just show up later.

Does it have to be Finnegans or Simpel? There's so many other places round here that look cool that I feel I should be investigating...

Bar etc. is good. Somewhere reasonably-but-not-too-trendy preferably with plenty of comfy seating, decent, varied music and reasonably priced drinks... lighting sufficiently dimmed to make me look handsome but not so dark I keep bumping into things and hurting my shins... that kind of thing...

How about Dreiunsiebzig in Schulterblatt Strasse? in front of Rote Flora... thats a little bit more like Hamburg proper and cool!

I'll try to make it tonight, but will be late. Let's stick to Simpel this time. I didn't like McLeans at all. Tomas Ried is nice, but very busy and, yes Sami, very dark. Besides they have events all the time (there's club downstairs) like karaoke and stuff. I personally think that Sternschanze is the nicest place to go out in Hamburg. Although I have no idea about area around Neue Flora and willing to explore.

Yea, I stopped by and also could not find anyone. I'm guessing it was the group sitting by the front door (maybe 6 or 8 peeps), but I didn't see Sami and it didn't sound like english. but hell, I was drunk so who knows...
