Webcam usage etiquette

Just wondered if a lot of you use a cam to communicate. There are days when I don't particularly want to be seen, once my lady friend was on hers with her face all creamed up, and I didn't recognize her, so i would like to avoid that.

What's the etiquette without hurting anyone's feelings?

you could maybe put a big scarf round your neck and up to your nose. then wear some big sunglasses. and a baseball cap. that way you can be polite and answer, but the other person not really "seeing" you.
