I'd imagine it's still quite popular among gents of a certain age, the kind of lads who keep Maplins in business, even RTTY still appears to have enthusiasts. Must be oddly satisfying printing out weather images you've intercepted in the comfort of your own shack.

CB is not the same as amateur radio.

Different frequencies and operating procedures.

Amateur radio requires an exam and CB radio dosent.
