Cancelling a Freenet DSL contract

I've decided to change my DSL from Freenet to Alice,It says 2 months notice to cancel.

When I try to cancel my contract why does it say first date available to cancel is 25.05.2008

The contract was started 25.04.2005,so it is well over 24months mininum

Anybody else had a problem?

Are you sure the notice is two months, not six months? From those dates, it would seem like it is six months.

Quoting from the smallprint on the Freenet webpage:

"automatische Verlängerung um jeweils weitere 12 Monate, wenn keine Kündigung mindestens 2 Monate vor Ablauf der Vertragslaufzeit erfolgt"

I.e. it's two months at the end of every 12 months period. If you miss the end of the 12 month period, you have to wait until the end of the next 12 months (though the way they describe it, it should be 25/04/08, not 25/05/08. Not sure about that detail...).

That's one of the main reasons I've just taken on Alice. All the others seem to have this 12 month automatic extension which is a bit of a scam.
