Passport (must be valid for at least 90 days beyond expiry date of the visa) required.
Visa (must be obtained from embassy of Czech Rep. in country of residence) required.
If being family member of an E.U. national (see TIRGL/EEU ) and holding proof thereof (e.g. marriage certificate) a short-
term visa can be issued on arrival free of charge by the Authority of Aliens and Border Police.
However, if passenger is:
- in transit through Czech Rep.; and
- continuing their journey (incl. other modes of transport) to a third country; and
- holding either a valid Schengen type B, C, or D visa or visa for Bulgaria, Cyprus, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia,
Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Romania, Slovak Rep. or Slovenia: visa not required for a max. transit period of 5 days.
Minors:
- under 15 years included on parents passport and visa, do not require a visa, provided travelling with parent;
- aged 15 years and older are required to travel on their own travel documents.
Visitor must hold:
- all documents required for next destination; and
- return/onward ticket or sufficient funds to buy one; and
- sufficient funds to cover intended stay.
Visitor must fill in and sign a border-crossing card.
Visitor must show at the request of the "Authority of Aliens and Border Police" the following (not applicable to holders of
a visa issued for purpose of business, study or science research) :
a. Means of support necessary for their stay in the Czech Rep. and for the journey back to their country of origin in the
amount of:
- at least CZK 1,160.- per day of stay if stay does not exceed 30 days; or
- CZK 34,800.- per day of stay if stay exceeds 30 days. The amount increases by CZK 4,640.- for each month of
estimated stay; or
- CZK 116,000.- if stay is for business purposes and exceeds 90 days.
For minors under 18 years of age, financial means equal to half of the above stated amounts are required.
b. Documents confirming financial security according to A.: credit cards, bank account, cheques, etc.;
c. Documents confirming accommodation for the period of stay;
d. A valid [url="http://www.toytowngermany.com/wiki/Health_insurance"]health insurance[/url] (complete coverage).
Requests stated under a., b. and c. above can be confirmed by the official invitation verified by the Authority of Aliens
and Border Police, not older than 180 days from its verification.
Visitors must register at the "Authority of Aliens and Border Police":
- those requiring a visa must register within 3 working days after arrival;
- those who are visa exempt must register within 30 days after arrival if their stay in the Czech Rep. is to exceed 30 days.
Registration can also be done by the provider of accommodation.
Non-compliance with entry regulations may result in deportation of passengers at carrier's expense. Moreover, the
delivering carrier will be charged with the detention fee of CZK 1,925.- per person per day, in connection with the stay of
deportee passengers at Prague airport until the time of their departure. Those carriers bringing in incorrectly documented
passengers will be fined up to CZK 200,000.- per passenger.
HUNGARY (HU)

However, if passenger is:
- in transit through Hungary; and
- continuing their journey (incl. other modes of transport) to a third country; and
- holding either a valid Schengen type B, C, or D visa or visa for Cyprus, Czech Rep., Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania,
Malta, Poland, Slovak Rep. or Slovenia: visa not required for a max. transit period of 5 days.
Visitor must hold:
- equivalent of HUF 1,000.- per day of stay (major credit cards accepted); or
- letter of invitation; or
- proof of accommodation reserved and paid via travel agency; or
- document authorizing visitor for withdrawing cash from a bank in Hungary; and
- return/onward ticket (or sufficient funds to buy one) indicating passport number and all documents required for
next destination.
Entry will be refused if not complying with entry regulations. Carrier will be fined HUF 1,000.000.-.
To avoid difficulties that may arise when due to bad weather an air journey is interrupted (and e.g. must be continued by
rail) it is advisable to arrange a visa abroad in wintertime.
