Switching from prepaid to a mobile phone contract

What're the criteria for operators accepting you?

Hello,

does someone of you know what are the criteria of Mobile operators to give (grant) you a contract for the mobile phone?
I was declined a contract three times by now, and of course the mobile providers smartly do not give the reason...

I had my prepaid phone by Mobilcom, then tried to switch to a contract and it was declined twice. So I took the number (paid 25 EUR to be able to take the phone number to the other operator) and wanted to set the contract with O2, and they declined the contract with me, too. Now Mobilcom disconnected my phone number (according to their rules)... I hope they will want to switch back the number, because I really can not live without it - I need to have this phone number due to my work (I posted this number to many advertisment for jobs as I am a recruiter).

so my question is - do you know what are the criteria of mobile operators/providors to give you the contract?
is it the salary, the lenght of having the bank account (I have the bank account in Germany since May 2007), beign foreigner, or do they check your costs or credits? I think my income and spenditure should not be an issue here...

Any reccomendations?

Thanks:)
