Group meet up for cards and boardgames

I talked to Thomas and he would definitely be interested. What day works best for everyone?

Hammonia said she's available one weekday night from Monday October 6th to Friday October 10th. What do you girls think of Tuesday or Thursday?

Since nobody has replied, I am making an executive decision and saying that our next games night will be Thursday Oct 9th at 7pm. If a bunch of us confirm, we can have it at Cafe May, otherwise I wouldn't mind hosting at my house.

Who is in besides Matt and I?

Thomas and I are in. Unfortunately he still doesn't know what day he will be in Berlin next week but hopefully it won't be Thursday

Just talked to him and he is in Berlin this coming Thursday -anyway you can change the date? Otherwise we are out

Actually we have plans on Wednesday. What about if we just do the meetup on Tuesday at the Rover since we already have a plan to play that night?

Thomas and I have time on Tuesday or Wednesday but aren't really fans of risk. We would be willing to bring some other games, but if you are set on Risk then we are out

Tuesday is not so good for me. Plus, I don't think I'm keen on playing risk... Did you make it a definite or a maybe with Aidan, marymanu?

edit: if you maybe want to stick with your executive decision, marymanu, and keep it on Thursday? Maybe Poppins could come without Thomas? (Just an idea, I'll not bring Mat cos he's not very keen on playing boardgames generally)

Hmm. Thomas and I really like playing strategy games and will probably end up playing on Tuesday or Wednesday this week either with you all or with other friends. I am not so keen to meet up on Thursday night as I do like to be home when Thomas gets back from Berlin.

@Hammonia, I think we made a drunken-definite with Adrian on Risk, but maybe I can just call and say that we can't make it.

Matt and I could probably do this Wednesday as long as it began kind of early. Could we meet up at say 6:30?

Next Wednesday I'm out, as well as the rest of the week - getting ready for my trip to Rome!

I'm pretty sure Adrian wouldn't mind, he's really laid back - after all, he's Irish.

I just moved from Brooklyn to Hamburg about three weeks ago. I was sick for a big chunk of my time here. I am well and now I am looking to meet people besides my German husband's friends.

I love board games. However, like most women I know, I have never play a strategy game besides chess. I am willing to come out and cheer. I also have a pack of Uno cards with me.

I cannot tell if Game Night is on or on Wednesday or on Thursday. I cannot legally work yet, so I am free just about every day.

Monica, welcome to Hamburg and to Toytown. It is okay if you have never played a strategy game before. I hadn't before moving here and now I am addicted to them. Depending on how many people show up, we might be able to play two or three games, so I am sure there will be something for you.

We have decided on Wednesday night at 6:30 pm. Since there are so many of us, I vote for meeting up at Cafe May. For those of you who don't know, Cafe May is a lovely bar/cafe with drinks, coffee, sweets, wonderful cake as well as baked potatoes, salads, quiche, sandwiches, etc. It is located by U Osterstrasse and on the bus #4 line by the Apostelkirche stop.

We have another group that meets up during the day to play some laid back cards/board games which you might be interested in as well. We met up in Eimsbuettel last week and will probably meet up there again this week, otherwise we also meet up in Ottensen.This is the thread to check out if you are interested.

Nope I just got home from work and I feel exhausted. All I want to do is go to bed. Plus I think it would be more fun if a few more people are able to make it for our re-start up of night meet ups. I'm really sorry, I hope we can make this work another time maybe after you get back from Italy? I can meet up during the day tomorrow though if you and Karen would be interested. I'd love to play taxis and thurn or whatever it is called
