Group meet up for cards and boardgames

Well for me I'd have to say that I like the idea of a regular day, place, and time every week. It was getting to be a pain trying to organize each week, finding a suitable venue, and then determining how many were coming, and then what game(s) to play. If I know gaming night is Wednesday, I can try to keep my calender free those nights. We are never going to find a place that suits everyone. Frieda's seems to be a good compromise for me.

A regular game night on Wednesday at Frieda's wouldn't stop me from gaming other nights and locations too. If somebody wants to find a place and set something up I'll come if I'm free. After all, I would like to get as much gaming in as possible before I leave. I'd just prefer not to have to do so much planning for the meetups.

Hmm I'm stumped. I like the idea of a set day but I also agree with Hammonia's concerns. I have never minded discussing each week what is best for everyone, since TT makes it so easy. But it seems that we could always do both a set meeting once a week and a more spontaneous one at someone's house. It's the summertime so schedules are funny and maybe a set day makes sense for right now. We could give it a try?

Altona isn't the best for me either but I'd be willing to go there sometimes. Could we make a compromise and say a meeting each Wednesday night, and switch every other week between Frieda's and Cafe May?

That sounds like a good idea. Alternating weeks and certainly if someone wants to host an evening that would be great too.

I 'm in again! I love the idea of a set day, time and location. And as Wednesdays is the only evening I can do, 7pm is perfect timing and both Cafe May and Friedas work for me, well - I couldn't be happier :-)
Have been following the thread wishing one of the meets would work for me, so now at last... I'm in for next Wednesday.

I usually don't have a problem finding parking nearby during the day, but last Wednesday evening I had to park a couple blocks away.

now I definitely can't make next Wednesday, want to see the European Cup half-final. And the week after we're invited for a birthday party on Wednesday.

I'm planning on watching the EM games too. Since Germany is still in (as expected) and it's the finals this week...they are getting pretty exciting...at least the last 10 minutes, anyway!
