I am looking for a good English-speaking dentist in the Stuttgart area...Any recommendations?
I use a dentist in Stuttgart Vaihingen who speaks english.
Its on Industrie Str.
DentistLink doesn't seem to be working at the moment.
He's helpful and friendly, but I get the impression that the prices are quite expensive.

I used to go to Dr. Winkler in Esslingen. I do think we spoke English. I was a public insurance patient and he took care of me. he said i should have filling replaced, but he never forced me to and monitored my progress from year to year. he took out my wisdom teeth.
only thing is, it'd be about a 20 minute walk from the train station. but i lived in esslingen so i had no issues there. there was a bus from the train station that took you to a parallel street.

Dr Strohkendl is brilliant but he us very expensive if you don't have Insurance. Our Insurance pays a limited amount per year so unfortunately I'm in the middle of 13,000 Euros of dental work with him right now. If you are Insured, he is great though!! There's also a good English speaking dentist near Gerlingen called Dr Leonardo Azzola. My husband went to him and he is also good but again expensive if you are not covered by Insurance. The address for him is Kirchstr. 13 70839 Gerlingen.

Thanks JRD, Elfenstar, and Nicole! I appreciate you giving me the info. I think I'll give Dr Strohkendl a try. I did a search and found his contact information. I have private insurance, so hopefully it will offset some of the costs.
Thanks again!

Can anyone recommend their dentist? I need to get my daughter to a dentist for a check up. This will be her first visit so a dentist that caters to kids would be great. If not, just a nice English speaking dentist will do! Any around the military bases?
Thanks!

The one mentioned above, Dr Strohkendl. All the staff speak English and they are really good with kids. It is about a 5 minute drive from Patch Barracks. If you want directions send me a PM.

I will also recommend Dr. Dr. Thomas und Uta Hoehnle. Nice, friendly, English speaking and quiet affordable..

Dr. Thomas Hoehnle is at Koellestrasse 15, D-70193. just about 4 bus stops from Hoelderlinplatz in Stuttgart.

Just wanted to drop a quick reply to say I have been to Dr. Strohkendl's office twice now, and I must say, he is one of the best dentists I have been to in my life. Thanks to all for the recommendation!
Just to add, I ran across this while searching the net:

Hi, was wondering if someone could give me a rough estimate how much Dr. Strohkendl charges for like a crown?
I was @ another dentist and he quoted me 800€ (and that is after insurance takes care of it)

Thanks!

Not sure how much, but you could call and speak with the front desk - they all speak English.

I got a Kostenvoranschlag from him today. The most expensive Crown is 1394 Eur and the cheapest is 878 Eur. Then you have to add the anesthetic fees and the other odds and ends. In total for 3 crowns and 6 ceramic Inlays plus all the pain relief, impressions etc, he quoted me 6700 Eur as a Private patient. I am having all my amalgam fillings removed and replaced with crowns or ceramic Inlays though.
I have to add that my teeth had suffered years of being patched up by NHS and military dentists. This was a total restoration job. If you have just a small problem, he's no more expensive than any other dentist I would imagine.
If you want cheap go to Poland, Had a brochure from this company but decided to get it done locally and save the hassle as I had so much work to be done. For one crown it may be worth it considering they offer free accommodation and transfers.

We went to Dr Strohkendl's office yesterday and it was the nicest (very modern) dentist office I have ever been to. The staff was OK, but Dr Anna Marie was very very friendly. She was unable to pull my sons tooth but referred us to another oral surgeon and called and made the appointment for us.
We ended up going to Dr Marcus Seiler (70794 Filderstadt, EchterdingerStrasse 7, phone# 07117009470). Across the street from the S Bahn station Bernhausen. The staff didn't speak english and weren't very friendly to be honest, but Dr Seiler did speak perfect english and was wonderful with my son. I HIGHLY recommend him if you need an oral surgeon to pull special case teeth.
