What should you be doing instead?

So rather than flouncing, although perhaps I should, I've come to the evident conclusion that while Toytown is fantastic, it can also be a major timesuck (Refresh, anyone?). There are several things I should be doing instead with the small (hah) amount of time I spend here each day:

- Learning German, Portuguese and Chinese (A polyglot mastered 30 languages with 20 min chunks of time a day, religiously - an hour less here would give a good push in that direction, right?)
- Clean Haus - I feel the inner German rising!
- Bike - either outside or on rollers (and TT in front of me - refresh, pedal,refresh, pedal,refresh, pedal,refresh, pedal,refresh, pedal,refresh, pedal...)

So what 3 should you being doing now, oder?

Well you're absolutely right, but isn't there something ironic about announcing on Toytown that you're sick of wasting your time on Toytown.

Shouldn't you be working? What two other things, now?

I should be cleaning my room (I sound like a teenager), cleaning out the cellar or dealing with paperwork!

I should update our Microsoft Money program, have not made any input the last 6 months so it can wait one more day cant it ...

oh, 2 more: cleaning & preparing the guest room for my parents visit

I should be out jogging, working, or wasting time on other Web sites.

I should be reading the book I bought since last month and need to fill up some forms. Or sleep early for not having a good sleep for two nights in a row. why am o wasting me time here?

Washing up and working. Meh. I know exactly why I'm wasting my time on here!

Writing my termpaper. I haven't even done anything for it today yet. I do plan on writing at least two more pages before I go to bed though. But first I will watch Heroes (yeah I need to work on setting my priorities right... I know ... and no comments on my sleeping pattern ). I have 4000 more words to write by Friday.

since i successfully finished the scarf i need done by Friday (it's as long as i am tall, but i guess that doesnt say much since i'm about 5'3") and have wrapped most of the gifts/stuff i'm hauling with me i decided i can take a break

You know you've got a problem when you find yourself wasting time on TT instead of doing the things you actually want to be doing.

@Zemoneky: I have been thinking the same thing - remember my thread on addiction to TT? I had actually started studying for my Yachtmasters theory exam coming up in two weeks and since I am doing it in German which is so tough, thought I will browse relevant topics on the net and guess what, I am on TT getting trapped in Molly B's harping on Mrs Ben Gunn while poor BG is only trying to figure out why his buddy professor ignored him and am wondering if I should have ignored all of it just as the good Prof. did.

Now if I flunk the exams, Molly B's to blame

I multi-task like an octopus. Between running experiments and writing grants and reports, I can check in here for a moment of mental relaxation (diversion). If TT weren't here, I would go back to reading news of the weird or some other bizarre thing to relax my brain. I need to dumb down occasionally to save my mind. Thank you TT for having it all in one place.

@sweety - clear addicty personalities reside here; and in other forums - the fact that this place is (over/well)moderated and that we sometimes meet face to face tempers it a bit. Or perhaps adds to it. We have worktime addicts, haus addicts, 24/7s, and one or two alkys. A veritable OFOtC'sN.

-fixing daughter's rollerblades

Packing

I should be going to some bar or do sight seeing while in berlin, but shit! its raining outside.

I really should be getting my beauty rest. So it's nitty-nite everyone.

Scrolling through every website looking for work.. probably would found a dozen by now if it wasnt for TT!
