Female friends sought near Saarbrücken

Hello there,
I come from South Africa and have been living in Germany with my husband for a year now - We live in a small town about 40 minutes from Saarbruecken and 40 minutes from Kaiserslautern ... really enjoying it but would love the opportunity to make some friends - as I am not working I am finding this a little difficult - any suggestions or any ladies in my situation that live close by that would like to meet up for a coffee/drink ...??

What town? I live about 1hr north of Saarbrucken, 40minwest of Kaiserslautern, right off the Autobahn.
I am new to this part of germany and am not good at speaking the language, so I'm feeling a little isolated. I have kids, and that doesn't really help the situation!

hi to everyone, I live in Blieskastel, also around 30 mins from Saarbrücken... I'd be really interested in meeting up; I did read the Kaiserslautern thread, but evenings/weekends (drinking ;-)) is pretty difficult to arrange because of my pretty strange family situation. I also have 2 small kids...

@angelsb: well, this KL meetup is the first we´ve organised here. What might work for you, if evenings and weekends are out?... drinking is always optional Maybe there´ll be something we can organise closer to Saarbrücken. Hope you can make it out here sometime. Cheerio!

@1tennisplyr! that is a very good question! Summertime is always good for late afternoon biergarten meetings where I can lose my children in the masses and enjoy a quiet drink! In the winter? Maybe a brunch of some sort?? There are some good place in Saarbrücken for that!! On a Sunday?

Brunch on a sunday is definitely possible as well as biergarten meetups in the summer. Turasteanga´s in Trier, not too far from Saarbrücken, so perhaps they might want to join this meetup too. I´m sure we can rope them in with a little arm twisting Let me see what I can put together.

I hope mntnmom and moutsa are also following this thread so maybe they´ll join too!

BTW... in case you missed it, I´m male... so this probably isn´t the right thread for me in which to be posting...

oops, seem to have missed the posts about a meet... any takers for a new one, now that spring is almost sprung?

Just to say that I live in between Saarbrücken & Trier (well, nearer Trier)...Kaiserslautern would be a bit difficult (tho poss) but Saarbrücken or anything just past it wouldn't be a problem &, of course anything between Saarbrücken & Trier would be great
