Left my passport in Slovenia and I need it quick

How I can get it back to Munich within 24 hours?

I need to get my passport from Ljubljana to Munich by 3pm tomorrow, any suggestions?

No chance with delivery, so contact your embassy or consulate in Munich and see what they can do to help.

No problem. Take the train leaving Munich tonight at 23.45. You will have enough time to pick up your passport and take the train back again arriving just before three.
Alternatively, if you have friends there, ask somebody to go to the airport tomorrow morning and ask one of the passengers to take it to Munich. Nobody would deny such a request.
Small Town Boy
The train idea won't work because she'd still need the passport to leave Germany!

No way I would ever agree to transporting a stranger's passport! You might find which flight is arriving in Munich in time, get in touch with the airline and ask them to courier it for you. It would cost but it's much less hassle than finding someone willing to bring it. Make sure you have other ID so you can pick it up.
EDIT @ STB: Showing a passport to leave Germany? Are you sure? Besides, Slovenia is EU. But I do not know about any special status they might have regarding border checks.

Good idea with the airline if the budget allows, but I'm assuming she won't need an ID since she happens to carry the face shown on the passport photo with her at all times (bar the bad lighting of course).

Slovenia is not yet a Schengen country, so you'd have to show your passport upon leaving Austria. Forgot my geography there; saw the country ended in "ia" and assumed it was east of here.
pootle
just after villach the slovenian border guards get on the train and do a nice inspection of everyone with their laptop full of bad peoples names
Katrina
Indeed they do - had mine checked in September going into and coming back from Slovenia via train, exactly as described by pootle.
Probably easier to get an emergency passport.

I find it's usually the Austrian border guards that are a pain! Either way, the chances of getting back in person by train are minimal. Courier service or embassy / consulate!

hello everyone...

so, let me reveal the story with Michelle's passport - the Mission Impossible, without Tom Cruise in it.
Passport was found in my car yesterday while I was driving to Slovenia, then we tried every possible option to get this pasport back to Munich by today 3pm...

we found out:
I was too deep in Austria to turn back
DHL in Slovenia closed at 4pm and does not do overnight delivery
there is no other speed delivery possible, that would organize this
if we rented a taxi, would cost a fortune
train to Munich - the only option would be giving the pasport to some stranger and hope not to use th4e advantage...the train personell does change on the way to Munich at least twice.
Plane - also either find a "nice person" to take it with him/her - but again - I was not up to leave Michelle's pasport with some stranger

Luckily - I have remembered I know the girl with the same name as mine (and last name too), that is a stewardess - so I called the other Maja Murko, she luckily flew out today to London, same time as there was flight to Munich and brought the pasport to a Adria Airways representative who put it in the plane co-mail - so the new thing I learned about - you can send mail with this co-mail (Adria representatives from city to city send each other mail apparently)... of course - nobody knows about it.

so - Michelle - I hope you get the pasport in about 10 minutes now:) the plane is landing 7.50

Mission Impossible completed:)

I was high on adrenalin yesterday evening, because of this story:)

Cool, I'm glad it worked out. Actually, the airplane thingy was Scogs' idea but I was at the PC at the moment so I posted.
