My bank is sparkasse, I have little bit of paper with Konto Nr and Bankleitzahl on it and name of Kreditinstitut des Begüngstigen. This is for my one off gym membership fee which I must pay before the weekend.
My question (cos I cant get to the bank before it closes):
Can one of the little machines I print out a statement at, not the geldautomat/whole in the wall/drink link, do this instead of me having to go in when the bank is open?
I've yet to actually press a button on one of those.
I assume so, but 1) is it easy, 2) can someone give me instructions.
Thanks

You can fill out the transfer and drop it into the bank's box saying "Überweisungen". They will take care of it from there.

Doh.
Do I fill out and tear off one of the copies myself? or put both bits together in the box? Damn, i think i remember now, if youve been at the sparkasse down from marienplatz, is this the glass box thing in the middle between the doors they close out of hours and the area with lots of cash machines?
thanks sarabyrd

Sparkasse charge you 50 cents for doing it on paper. If you are as tight as me, just type it in yourself in a service terminal.

You do know I'm Scottish right?
So quite obvious how to do on those machines is it? I just have this feeling I will totally f/& it up!

Scottish, really?
My gran's from Glasgow and I'm tighter than a gnats chuff.

Touch the button that says überweisung, put in your card and just type in the details. Enter your PIN. Done.

I dont have a reference number or anything on this but I assume they figure it out somehow... ok so i know it would be easy, just usually you get a reference number right? or maybe not here. i dont know.

Your name will appear on the überweisug anyway if you don't have a reference number.

The thing is called an Überweisung.
You do it on your PC.
Yes, you can fill the thing out and send it
/ deliver it to YOUR bank.
But why bother, its sooo easy.
Also it costs almost nix to transfer from one Euro
Bank A/C to another - throughout the EU
(even to a UK Euro Bank account)

asked this in another thread on different topic, more relevant here...
ueberweisung takes a few days then, but presumably if i withdraw cash on friday and put straight into an account it is instantaneous?
just checking, im pretty sure it is.

An Überwesung can be instant if electronic but allow a couple of days if it's something with a deadline.
Don't faff around with cash. emember some banks charge 50 cents or something to people paying cash into an accoun that isn't their own.

Schotte, I can only tell you that at Deutsche Bank it is instantaneous if you deposit cash money into an account. Not sure about other banks. Make sure to go there in the morning though as some might close early on a Friday.
