Does anyone have any info on the Film/Television Industry in Berlin?

I have found one website called English Crews United... Are there any other websites geared towards the industry in Germany? Also are they any job boards or job sites that I should start looking at?

I had thought about applying to TV Total, however... The Brainpool says they only hire people that speak good German. I am learning the basics, and hopefully by the time I move there I will be able to have decent conversations.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Kenn.

Hello,

Also check out www.bbfc.de, not to be mistaken as the British Board of Film Classification it is the Brandenberg film commission. It has info on films being made in Berlin and that includes alot of contacts. The website is in German but they are very helpful when you email them. Hope this helps.

Hi!

I am also interested in some info about jobs related to the film industry, TV, Audiovisual production in general. I am a master student of Media Production living in NRW (Lemgo). If anybody knows anything about it for this summer, would be great to be in touch. Around this area (Lemgo) theres no much of this type of jobs, and meeting people for it has been very difficult. Any suggestions?

Also I am open for some collaborations with anything related to audiovisuals and other arts.

Danke!

I'd be for a meetup of those interested in production -- trade notes, etc. (Location? I'm in steglitz.) Here's a site of interest, btw: http://www.crew4you.tv/

With so many artists in the room, I know this may be risky, but I volunteer to act as Secretary (if only to locate a central bar).

Send me this info & I'll plug it in for sharing among the willing. (I tried to attach a word.doc with this table on it, but Toytown blocks me from doing attachments. Mebbe something I said once...)

But I'll figure out a central location among those who send me the info, and I'll send a copy to anyone who fills this out...

BTW: Babelsberg Studios itself was described to me as a huge piece of empty real estate (i.e. studio space) with a big perennial "for rent" sign.

The action only happens when a production company comes along and says 'we want to occupy for 2 or 10 weeks and we need X builders; X dressers; X cast members,' etc. So, then, there are ancillary businesses -- equipment rental, effects, titlers, subtitlers, etc. -- all around the place and they jump into action when called. I have an aging list of the ancillary businesses -- gotten with some effort, and it's pretty big.

And I don't know producers or the people they employ to put out the calls...

I post these ad nauseum, but they ARE useful if you don't know them already...
