Hang out spots in Bonn

i just discovered this site, i have no idea there are so many of you out there.

i have been living in bonn for about a year, but i haven't actually meet any english speakers yet except tourists

where do you guys hang out mostly?

If it is still in business try the Green Hill Irish bar in Bad Godesberg. I have many a fond memory (I almost wrote mammary) from that place.

I never went to Fiddlers when I was in Bonn (not even sure it was in business back then) but you could try it out.

We have only been in Bonn about 6 weeks so still finding our way around but we tend to go to Fiddlers, Taco's mexican (half price cocktails are great), the quiet man irish pub or Tresor pub (its a rock pub). There are sometimes meet-ups or you could suggest something...we are always up for something!!

i know there's a little cafe (forgot the name) next to the Daniel Store, has anyone tried that yet?

I'm a regular in Blow Up, myself. Rathausgasse 10 near the Markt, Uni, Altes Rathaus. Open to 5am, good music, good drink, decent prices, dark ex-brothel turned bar with dancefloor.

What sort of music do they play?

Electric lounge, sixties, jazz, electric-indie... very good place. Noticed you on these boards a bit, PM me if you fancy coming along some time. I'm English, 21, working here as a translator and English teacher.

actually it is impossible to sum up the music that they play... basically it will suit anyone as long as they arent into hip hop and cheesy pop.

Hello, I was just looking into this because I have so far been very impressed with the Irish pubs in Bonn and wanted to see other's thoughts. I have a question for Rose though- where are you working as a translator? Would like to know about where you teach as well but the translator gig interests me more. Any info you can give me would be greatly appreciated. I am looking for work here and am running into walls. Thanks.
