Suggested venues for hosting around 30 people

Nice Saturday night places with food

Hi there!

I'm currently looking for a good location and hope somebody here at TT can help me out with a good suggestion.

I need some sort of "Stammtisch"-y place that does proper food and can host around 30-40 people on a Saturday night who will all pay for themselves (no group bill). In addition to that, we'd need around 3x3m of space for a ... traraaaaa, magician who will do a nice little show for us.

Anybody with a good idea here? Most restaurants will only host a group this large when everything can be put on one bill, or with some sort of Mindestverzehr or the likes.

When you say "Stammtisch", you mean a venue that will host you every week, or is this just a one off?

If it's a one-off then it's not a Stammtisch. But see the following for venue ideas: Party space locations to hire, suggested venues for around 50 people

really? Never had that problem.

Try St. Emmeran`s Mühle, Schlosselgarten beergarten- they have a separate room, Oktoberfest Bier Musuem, Wirthause zum Straubinger, Kleine Schmausefäll (spelling? its right by MariaHilfpl)

I think it could be a problem on a Saturday night, especially with a group that large, but it's certainly not impossible. Try Unionsbräu or, if the searches in the centre of Munich don't work out, Wirtshaus in Sendling, which has a back room that holds about 30.

Hi everybody,

thanks for the suggestions so far! It's supposed to be a one-off, not really a Stammtisch - you're right!

I'm currently checking out your suggestions ... the Unionsbräu was good, but the room downstairs is rather long-ish and not really good to suit a good show (which is to bad since they serve excellent food). Will let you know how I get on, any more suggestions are highly welcome and anyone interested to see the show as well, just let me know :-) .

Tattenbach has a separate room that can be reserved. Might be a bit small though, only space for about 20 people. Ratskeller has similar.

Donisl on Marienplatz has a room upstairs at the front that would be suitable.

If you're lucky, you'll meet these people there. (I was going to say they haven't updated their website since the 1980s, but that doesn't quite make sense).

Why don't you try the Burgerhaus in Eching. They have great facilities

The Pschorr in Viktualen Markt have an upstairs area with a fantastic view over the Market etc. The beer is super , from " Holzfass " . Another possibility is the Löwenbräu Keller in Stieglmeier Platz, there is a semi private room directly over where the beer is served . When I say semi private I mean it's closed off but one wall overlooking the restaurant is only waist high. This means your group are alone but not entirely shut off from the other guests.
