Hi,
A friend of mine is setting up a business in Hungary (he is Hungarian). He will find various short term jobs all over europe (mostly physical, like building work, welding...etc), and send his people out to do the work. As far as he is concerned, in germany he needs to register his business in order to be able to do this legally. Does anyone know if it's just a simple registration, or does he need to set up a completely new gmbh here in germany? What documents would he need to get translated?
Thanx for any help.

It's not a simple registration, but he probably won't need a new GmbH either. I would expect that he would need to have the statutes of the company translated and notarised as well as an extract from the Commercial Register evidencing the companies existence, together with proof of his authority to represent the company (possibly the register will show this?). I would think all of this will need to be notarised and translated.

Hi Jimbo,
Thanx for the answer. Do you know what are all these called in german?

The statutes of the Company are called the 'Satzung' (any certificate of incorporation is usually referred to as the 'Errichtungsbescheinigung') and an extract from the Commercial Register is a 'Handelsregisterauszug'.
