Hi there,
I just got a job for a week in Munich on a €400 Basis. The employer wants me to work for 14 hours a day although it states on the contract that the hours worked per day are 8 hours and the pay is the same €400.
I really need the cash and would be prepared to sign it but he says that I am legally not allowed to work for more than 8 hours so he won't change it.
I am also getting Arbeitslosengeld and have declared the work to the Arbeitsamt. I am worried about signing it, working, and then somewhere down the line like at the Finanzamt they start asking questions and I get screwed.
What's your opinion on this?
Sam.

14 hours a day? Are you nuts?

Probably, but the guy who owns the place wants to go away for a week and needs someone to take care of the place. It's an internet café.

Yes...extremely dodgy. I know a company in Munich that does the same thing, then pays the "extra hours" in cash on the side. I guess it all depends on how much you need the cash. For me, it's not worth it.

Be very careful here.Get your hours to work per month in the contract, or better said maximum amount of hours for 40 yo yo's
I believe that working more than 10 hours in one day isn't legal anyway...
