I mentioned this news in another thread, but now it is official. BILD has started a new discount mobile phone service using Vodafone network. 10 cents per minute to all German networks (Fixed and mobile). Starter packet costs 9,95 EUR with 5 EUR credit. Looks like a good deal.

Not bad.
But do note that taktung is 60/60, i.e. they will charge you full minutes only.
That could explain why calls are cheaper than other MVNOs.
Also note they charge 14/19 cents per SMS, higher than most others.

I just looked up the international prices for this here
http://www.bildmobil.de/fileadmin/user_upl..._Preisliste.pdf
Telefonate ins Ausland, 1,99 E/Min.
SMS-Versand ins Ausland: 0,29 E/SMS

This isn't really cheap, is ist?l.

Does anyone know other cheap rates for textmessages from D - > uk?

Eplus free&easy-prepaid charges 0,39 €/SMS

I'm only looking for pay as you go-SIM-cards. Thanks.

Fonic (rates here, PDF) charges 20 cents/SMS to outside the country.

interesting, thank you.
but Mist, they use the wrong net:

In welchem Netz telefoniere ich mit FONIC?
Mit FONIC telefonieren Sie in Deutschland in den Netzen von O2 und T-Mobile und in über 50 Netzen im Ausland.

off topic but anyway: in case anyone may be interested, I just stumbled upon a Auslandsflatrates Vergleichsseite (landlane and DSL, no mobiles)

Are you specifically looking for a provider using Vodafone network? The above line means you will be using O2 (in cities) and T-Mobile(mostly in remote areas) network in Germany when you use the service of Fonic. And while roaming, you can use over 50 different networks abroad.

I left O2 and swiched to Eplus because I couldn't get a connection and only received textmessages randomly in my own flat (I am in Hannover half of each month). Vodafone would be an alternative to Eplus though. But as Fonic uses preferably O2 I would end in the same trouble.

Simyo has also started a 9.9 cent tariff plan. 9.9 cents per minute and per SMS to all networks in Germany. 20 cents per SMS to a network outside Germany.
