"My forecast is that around 2050, the state of Massachusetts will be the first jurisdiction to legalize marriages with robots," artificial intelligence researcher David Levy at the University of Maastricht in the Netherlands told LiveScience.
Levy recently completed his Ph.D. work on the subject of human-robot relationships, covering many of the privileges and practices that generally come with marriage as well as outside of it.

Why would this need to be legalized, is there currently a law forbidding it?

The boob is working on moving up from tailpipes to robot pipes. Let there be

Well, if that happens what reason would men have to leave the house now?
You'd be assuming the robots don't also nag.

Marriage with robots is yesterday's news. Today's hot topic is marriage with software. Wife 3.0 will be released soon.

There's nothing new in this, the command instruction used to be "lie back and think of England"

Surely we will still need real women if only for sex – the slim good looking ones at least.
Of course there will be male robots as well. Perhaps we are all out of a job?

There is already a simplified version of a male robot, it's called a dildo.

Maybe it is the same for women they may prefer sex with human beings. Just the ugly women will have sex with robots because they can’t find a nice man.
Sounds somewhat like Eugenics. So once there are no ugly people what will happen?

I am only talking about sex, people will still procreate.

Wow. Gives the Jetsons a whole new context. What else could Rosie do?
I have to admit, the assertion that the things that make people fall in love could be programmed was ever so slightly creepy...

Not going to bother reading the article.
But as for "legalising sex with a robot" (as the image says) - is sex with a robot illegal? And do vibrators count as robots?
