Police raid at Rote Sonne nightclub

and again..

candy club at rote sonne raided on saturday night.

they let us leave though pretty quickly, but i have a feeling that may have been cos we were girls and there didn't appear to be any female officers to search us. could be wrong though - there was about a hundred of them (ok, i'm exaggerating, but probably 50). nothing better to do on a saturday night i guess.

Aye, the wires were humming on this one yesterday.
It was a MASSIVE police operation, the whole of Lenbachplatz was closed and there are the usual dodginess allegations about how the police acted.

From what I hear the police capture was one small bag of an unidentified substance and one 17 year old who shouldn't have been there after midnight.
Much the same as they got when they raided the The Garden and Registratur clubs back a couple of months ago.
ANYONE who knows, could have told them there is no significant naughtiness at Candy Club, but what a super way to spend what, 50 000 Yoyos of our tax money, no?

More comment as appropriate, we'll see how the wheels turn this week.

Absolutely lovely! So for those of you in Munich, is this just something they do with the evil gay clubs or is it a regular occurrance with nightclubs in general?

aye, it was pretty big.

had a wee chat with one of them - asked what happened next as we were all just kinda standing about. he said he didn't know and asked if this was my first razzia. i said yes, and he replied 'me too'. lot of little boys in uniform... to be fair, we asked if we could leave - 2 girls and a boy and they were pretty ok - escorted out and let us go with the minimum of fuss even though 2 of us didn't have id.

but, yeah, no doubt a massive waste of tax-payers money in a city with an almost inexistant drugs problem. unless of course you're talking about the more upmarket bars & clubs which they never touch...

Lex, the Munich police seem to have a penchat in Munich for raiding gay clubs and/or alternative clubs where there is some crossover.
Some police raids on some venues in Munich in the past been "justified" by the use of naughty sweeties.
But the latest round is seemingly avoiding "upstanding", "respectable", "high class" locations, which explains a lot of the extreme frustration going through (gay / alternative ) clubbers in Munich right now.

We've got no gay dance clubs here in Nuremberg...certainly makes me wonder if our idea for a night down to munich would even be worth it!

I've heard that Nuremberg is rather poor for late night revellry - and even with the bad publicity of the police raid this weekend, Munich surely has so much more to offer. So you Franconians should definately make the effort to visit.

Lexicon, there loads on in Munich fo dance clubs that are gay or gay friendly, different styles of music on offer too.
This is NOT going to stop people going out.
Candy Club is kind of electro, indie, Britpop and is a GREAT night out.

Come down with some mates on a BayernTicket and stay out all night and get the train back in the morning - or afternoon if you get lucky!

Thing is with Munich, there are just two, sorry three, cos Mrs Hendersens is BACK! that are gay all the time.
But there are LOADS of club nights going on in other venues regularly, have a look at gaytimer.de, which MIGHT also be available as a paper copy in local bars or look in the listings section of Leo or Blu which should be in your local pubs.

Word on the street is that the first night on Saturday of the new clubnight "Haupstadt" this weekend just gone, saw the gay scene's latest favourite boygroup doing TWO guest appearances.
