Meet up for twenty-somethings new in Munich

Never been, actually. Just wanted to try it.

well so far the suggestions are:

For a meet up like this it is best to have a bar with "Stehtische". That is, high tables with stools. That way people can mingle and mix. Some can be seated, others can stand, all are at the same eye-level. You had that at my last recommendation, Havanna Club.

Other bars with a similar interior set up are:

• Reizbar - standing tables on the right as you come in (a big TT party was once held here, Nils the owner likes TT'ers)
• Cafe Blue - standing tables on the left as you enter (TT Tuesday often goes here, so maybe not such a good choice, better to hit new places)
• Barschwein - the new one at Tengstrasse, the section at the back/right of the bar, immediately ahead as you enter (some TTers don't like the sterile atmosphere here, I think it's OK)
• Harpers and Queens - the back side of the bar, immediately ahead as you enter, reservation advisable
• X-Kneipe - grab the couch set at the deepest area from the entrance, either back left or right, no reservations possible, so arrive early (8pm, not before as it only opens at 8)
• Master's Home - in front of the bar, furthest section from the entrance, reservation imperative and arrive on time.

My recommendation this week would be X-Kneipe. OK, so it doesn't have the standing tables which were my original recommendation, but the comfy couches and cool atmosphere more than make up for it. Make sure a bunch of you arrive at 8pm sharp to snag at least four couches - ones at the back.

Anyway, up to you guys. I don't mind where you go, of course. Once you've decided, someone start a new topic and include all the info in the first post.

X-Kneipe would be perfect for me since I'm living that way these days.

Agreed about the table/seating situation.

Editor_Bob has a great track record so far, and I want to explore some new places... let's try X-Kneipe.

Plus it is just close enough that those individuals that want to can stop by my place beforehand for a vodka sampling

hey guys, im up for meeting up again this week! am liking the sound of x-kneipe as well, as its right in der nähe for me :-) not sure about friday though, if there was a vote i think i would be going for thursday like last week?!

thursday would be better for me too. cant make friday, have to go to italy for the weekend. sorry dont mean to throw a spanner in the works.

Thursday night works for me. This time I'll try to avoid anything involving multiple varieties of rum. The Zombies didn't destroy me or anything, I was just very, very happy. Just let me know the where and when and I'll be there.

Oh, and slightly off-topic, I have an extra standing room ticket for the opera on Saturday night if anyone's interested. Here's a link to the wikipedia article about the opera they're doing. Hopefully I'm not the only person here who actually likes opera...

Ok, executive decision: If no objections are made by 5pm today, I'll ask the mods to change it to 8pm this thursday (25.10.07) at x-kneipe. Sound good?

Also, due to popular request I'd like to put forward a motion to ban all discussion of steak-and-shake or other similiar American restaurants

really? thursday?

it seems like week days are better for meeting strangers, since people usually have plans with people they already know on weekend nights. Just my opinion though. It is also better for having a big group, since not a huge amount of people will be out crowding up the bar.

I'd be down for the X-kneipe. Was only there once for like 20 minutes and didn't drink anything, so I would like to check it out.
