Meet up for twenty-somethings new in Munich

Hi All!

I'm trying a little experiment here. If anyone is new in Munich and trying to meet others in there 20's, i propose we meet and go out on Thursday. I'm still trying to think of a good place to go, would welcome any suggestions. At a tentative time I'd say 8pm, but this can all change based on interest. I was just curious if there was anyone else who, like me, is new here in town and still trying to meet new people. Right now I'm just trying to see if there would be interest in such a thing...

I'd definitely be interested in a 20-something meet-up - though my work schedule is a little weird and I often work weekday evenings. I can see what I can do about rearranging schedules to make it to whatever plans develop here, though. I'll check back often.

Yeah, I would be totally up for this! I can't come this week though, my mum is visiting from Wednesday so we'll be doing 'touristy' stuff. Next week though, for sure!

Clio, theres always some decent hangouts near Fraunhoferstaße, some bars near Sendlinger and Schwabing has some tucked away places that look awesome. Will get back about the latter...

Modernclio, welcome to TT. See the page on how to organise an event for tips on arranging such a meet up. One important point to note is that the organiser needs to be decisive about time, date, and location. Post that info, and others will then join you. If you don't post location info, then the event can't happen. I'd recommend picking a bar or cafe rather than an outdoor landmark such as a fountain.

For an 8pm Thursday drinks meet up in the Marienplatz area, I'd recommend either: Havana Club, Loggia, or Harpers and Queens. Take your pick. If you can't decide, start at Havana Club, then move on to Harpers and Queens around 10pm.

This is a very rare meet-up where I actually qualify to go. It's annoying as hell to see all the under 25 meet-ups and over 30 meet ups...there has to be people in their mid to late 20's here other than me...

...but I will say, no matter which bar or cafe you choose to meet at, I'd give it a 5% chance that I'll be able to make it with less than a month notice.

Doors only open at 9 there. Wouldn't mind doing Havana, haven't been there in a long while.

I've never been there either... so I have no idea. But to make this a real meet up, lets have the venue decided by the end of the day today. 8pm@ Havana?

so 8 it is. i think since a lot of us dont know where havana is (and may not know their way around town yet), the fountain might actually be a better meeting point though. I'll be at the fountain at 8, whoever wants to meet up there is welcome to join, otherwise i'll see you in the bar.

Sounds good... if you know where it is, go there. If not, meet at the fountain at 8pm. People will probably be at the fountain 10 minutes before and after 8... so be there then head over.

For those really new, don't forget TT has info on the bar in question including an address which you can plug into google maps

That all sounds good. I've been really busy today - moving into my new apartment - so I haven't had time to catch up with what's going on. I was hoping someone would have an idea like that, though, because I was not coming up with anything...

Havana Club is an excellent bar. They make the best cocktails in Munich, by far. Expensive, but very strong. There is nothing worst than dropping 9 EUR for a cocktail with no alcohol in it. This won't happen at HC. This is only around the corner from where I live, so if I motivate, maybe I'll swing by.
