Is this common?

I went on holiday in mid July, lying on my back on the beach I applied suncream over my tummy. i stupidly turned onto my side during a little doze and woke up v red on my side.

I can still see the hand marks from when i splattered the cream but didnt bother reaching round my side.

I've def never had burn marks as long as this, is this common?

yep, I have permanent bikini marks from a sunburn I got in the 90's. Went to a Dermatologist about it, and he said that is was normal.

I didnt mention the vest marks I have from wearing vest all summer... i thought that would go away eventually as was constant exposure to sun but still have since roughly the same time! feck!

time to hit the sunstudio and cover up the areas that are not white! They fade over time, but if you are fare skinned, takes longer.

I have permanent flip flop tan lines. They never fade completely during the winter and then get more pronounced again during the summer, so my feet kind of look a bit "dirty" because the rest of me is so pale. tongue.gif

Sunburns are cool, man.

Owww, looks painful. I've never been that suburnt, never actually had my skin peel from a sunburn either, luckily. That must be really ouchy.

My left arm is still much darker than my right, which surprises me after all this time.
(This is all from mid-August when I drove from Düsseldorf to Bern, Switzerland)

But your marks are from July? That's even more surprising!

/i wouldnt mind if it was like my vest marks but frankly i dont want the contours of my hand marked on my stomach/side for ever more
