Where to get decent espresso coffee grind

Suggested stores or online sources in Germany

I just moved to Trier a few weeks ago and I've been trying out different types of espresso coffee and they're all pretty awful!

Even went to a specialised store that sell a wide variety of coffees, grind them for you, and their finest espresso grind is still to coarse to make a decent cup.

Of all the coffees I've found only one little Italian store carries a good grind, one that I haven't heard before and one that is pretty expensive, but so far I'm stuck with it.

I was just wondering, anyone know of any stores that carry Illy coffee or similar? I'm in Trier but I wouldn't mind driving to get it, or ordering online. Since I'm here for a year it could be worth my while driving 200-300km and getting a good supply of decent coffee... I'm strange that way, I didn't lug a Gaggia machine all the way from Ireland to drink muck here in Germany hehe!

You should be able to find Illy coffee at every bigger supermarket. Even our local EDEKA has it in stock.

I see you definitely have the correct expresso machine. You have to find yourself an Eilles (the name of the chain) shop they provide good freshly roasted coffee beans and they will grind them for you. Nummer 3 on the grinder. You are definitely not strange.

You are probably better to find an actual nearest shop to get the freshest stuff.
