Regular drinks meet ups in Hamburg

Hi everyone,

yesterday we (a group of 5 cool Hamburg TTlers) had the smart idea to arrange regular meetings. Anyone also interested?? We could meet up every Friday or Tuesday or whenever at "Simpel" in Sternschanze (cause many liked it there) or at finnegans wake. We think that it would definitely help build the community here in beautiful Hamburg.

I would love to, I travel a lot and have seen folks have started to meet each weekend in Schanze but I haven't managed to make it yet, but if the odd Tuesday is also available that would be cool. Count me in.

Ok, meeting during the week also makes lot of sense. Guys, we ll talk about it nx meeting this week (u know who u are) and we ll post the plans here! Looking forward to our first "Stammtisch" (tbd) with hopefully heaps of new faces. Steve

A regular Stammtisch is a great idea, would surely be there from time to time.

We had tried to establish sth like that, but maybe the time wasn't right back then, it's much more going on in the Hamburg forum now.

Tricky thing is, you need to make sure that at least 1 person is always there - for the newcomers which don't post on the forum but just decide spontaneously...
Our problem was that it was only Expat Mat and me organising, and such a weekly thing is quite a commitment, which we couldn't administer on our own.

So cheers to you guys for finally getting things going.

Well we all usually meet on fridays anyways, so what midweek day is best for the majority? a tuesday was mentioned, or are you refering to mittwoch?

I like the idea of a midweek thing better as well - as I really miss the 'social midweek beer' from back home but there's usually always something to do at weekends...

Friday usually sth going on, but on the other hand: if you don't have plans for a Friday and know that there's a place where you can just pop in, that's also a nice thing...

Guys, just spoke to Deb.. anyone up for a drink Thursday night meeting at about 8pm? Also, we're planning a big one for Saturday.. to celebrate Deb's marriage and the arrival of Erin's Aussie mate, Jess. Will be a lot of fun, so don't miss out on it!

I didn't go to bed till after seven this morning and I only got up about 11 hours later so it's still a bit too early for me to go out drinking. Plus I have to wait till I get paid.
