I'm a big fan of
LinkedIn as a tool for networking and for managing my professional contacts. In particular I find it useful for keeping me up to date with contact information and for providing me with a useful insight into the general state of the telecoms industry in which I operate.
So far I've resisted the temptation to signup for any of the social networking sites that seem to be gaining momentum.
Which networking tools do you use and why?

I use LinkedIn as well...very nice site.
For more "social" networking and not at all professional, I use myspace...because everyone has myspace.
I've thought about getting on facebook, but everyone that has a facebook account also has myspace one. Also, most bands that I'm interested in have myspace pages and I can keep up-to-date on their touring with myspace.

I'm also on LinkedIn for professional networking.
I'm on myspace and facebook. I gotta say, I much prefer facebook over myspace, because I don't have to deal with eye-scarring, pimped-out profile pages. Facebook has a nice, clean UI that I much prefer. I never really used myspace to track bands, though. These days I check facebook daily, whereas I only bother checking myspace once a week or so...
