Visiting the U.S. under the visa waiver program

How often can you do this as a German citizen?

How often can someone visit the US under the visa waiver program (assuming you are a german citizen). Would it be possible to visit once every 3 months for about 1 or 2 weeks each time? The total time would be well under the three month limit, but I am not sure how this is looked upon by the US

My boyfriend, who is German, visited me last year twice in a 3 month period. First in the end of September till October for a month. Then in December for about 2 weeks.
So he had 2 trips, one being rather long and the other not so long...Wish I could say more but I am not sure on the exact guidelines.

Is there a limit to the number of times I may travel to the United States visa free in any given period of time?

There is no limit to the number of times you may travel visa free under the Visa Waiver Program in any given period. There is also no minimum period of time you are required to remain outside the U.S. before reapplying for admission. If you are a frequent traveller to the United States, it is advisable that you carry with you for presentation to U.S. immigrations evidence of your residence abroad to which you intend to return at the end of your visit together with evidence of funds sufficient for your support while in the United States. If the immigrations inspector is not convinced that you are a bona fide visitor for business or tourism, you may be denied entry.

So long as you leave the US long enough to get another stamp in your passport, you can come right back as many times as you want. However, do NOT make the mistake of thinking you can just hop over the border to Mexico or Canada to restart your visitor status. When my husband was first in the US, he was advised by someone to do this as a quick way to get a new waiver, and when he asked the guys at the border for a stamp in his passport he damn near got stuck in Mexico.
